USNC HALEU Specifications for the Chalk River Project

USNC will source HALEU for our Chalk River Project in the form of U3O8.  Because the ASTM has not yet developed a specification for U3O8 HALEU, USNC has adopted ASTM C1462 – 00 (2013), tightening the isotopic content of U234 and U236 to less than 0.3% and 0.6%, respectively, to exclude the use of uranium coming from reprocessed spent fuel that would contaminate our fuel manufacturing equipment.
